Kris’ 101 in 1001

Here is the concept from this website:

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

Things in italics are in progress. Things completed are struck through.

For each item I’ve not completed by the end of this mission I will donate $5 to Habitat for Humanity

  1. I have just looked at your list and I think that there may be one or two that have been completed but not struck from list. Aside from that, I think that you are a very talented writer. It would be interesting to write your blogs for the N&O paper. They have recently started columns for several writers who from this reader’s viewpoint are not nearly so talented. Just a thought. I would have forwarded one of your blogs to an editor there if I could have found the correct website to do so. Again, your writing shows an intelligent observation on many of lifes issues and events. Your piece on Popbear was beautiful. It is nice to see that my dad’s abilities are still present in his decendants.

    Mom

  2. What a list. I think you should get points just for making the list that everyone runs away from . Good for you!!!!

  4. I strongly recommend going to London. It’s awesome. The food sucks but everything else is awesome. I had a blast when i lived in england for six months in 2007. Next on my list in Sydney which i hope will be next year. By the way, how can u not have passport!? You can’t even cross the border with mexico or canada without a passport. I can see Wes has seen Star Wars a few times lol. Excellent impression.
